San Jose – May 25th, 2013

taco_festival_2013Pro Wrestling Revolution is proud announce that we are going to be taking part in the second annual San Jose Taco Festival. The feast day will be filled with tastings, art, and performances. We will have a curated selection of 35+ of the best food trucks from all over the Bay Area serving their best rendition of a taco. All plates will be $5 or less. Short rib tacos, nacho tacos, Vietnamese shrimp tacos, and even ice cream tacos is just a sample of the day’s menu. Tacos in the competition will be voted on by attendees. Finalists will be judged by a celebrity panel and prizes will be awarded based on quality and presentation. The onsite Firehouse building will be converted into a VIP area with all you can eat tacos and open bar.

While food is the main attraction, various entertainment options will be provided for the crowd. A music program entitled, “Concert in the Park,” will be placed with various live musical acts throughout the day. There will be a kids area near the stables with pinatas, balloon artists, and face painters. Luche Libre (Mexican-style masked wrestling) with full wrestling ring will also occur throughout the festival. A selection of approximately 20 art, jewelry, clothing vendors and community partners will also have a presence at the event. The taco festival will also play host to the second annual US Air Accordion Championship (USAAC) competition.

We still cant get over how special the weekend was on so many levels. So much work went into making this weekend special. When we had our first show in San Jose, I never thought of having a Main Event like we did this past weekend, a crowd like we did, along with everything has taken place over our years.

El Mariachi’s victory over Bryan Cage for the Pro Wrestling Revolution Jr. Heavyweight title, in Turlock, will stay with me for years to come, and the entrance to the Main Event with Blue Demon Jr , KAFU and El Hijo del Santo was breath-taking, simply fabulous.

The crowd in Turlock, was our best turn out yet, and it couldn’t of come at a better time, than our 5 year celebration. To my entire roster, homegrown, from Southern California, from Mexico, thank you. Muchas gracias, estoy muy agradecido, todo el apoyo de tanta gente, muchas gracias. The tiles changing hands to Blue Demon Jr and Hijo del Santo, has sent waves through the Lucha Libre world. Here is a quote.

“Haciendo historia por primera vez blue demon jr y el hijo del santo logran el campeonato mundial de parejas de PRO-WRESTLING REVOLUTION algo jamás logrado por sus padres …… Tiempos diferentes éxitos diferentes MUCHAS FELICIDADES , una Super lucha esta noche!”

¡Viva la Revolución!

Here are the results:

  • Blue Demon Jr. & El Hijo  Santo over. La Migra® to become New World Tag Team Champions
  • Octagoncito over Pequeno Halloween

Pro Wrestling Revolution on The Travel Channel!

Pro Wrestling Revolution owner Gabriel Ramirez was in Tijuana,Mexico this past year, taking part in a project with the Travel Channel, filming a new show with  Andrew Zimmern, called “The Border Check”. The premier debuts this May 5th at 5pm on Travel Channel.

The Border Check – Andrew Zimmern discovers the food and fun that blur the line between the US and Mexico. He joins the Border Patrol for a day, he samples delicious, homemade cuisine. samples some of the best empanadas that he’s ever tasted, visits Hotel Caesar’s in Tijuana, birthplace of this famous salad and learns about a wrestling form called Lucha Libre.

“Growing up, I used to spend my summers in Tijuana with family, and as fun it was spending time with them, one major attraction was Lucha Libre on Friday nights where I would see Perro Aguayo and so many others wrestle, including a match with a young “Pretty Boy’ Tommy Pritchard, that I can still remember to this day. To be able to return to the place where I had so many memories and be part of a project that involves, Lucha Libre, Rey Misterio and Andrew Zimmern, makes me feel like I have come full circle, but I believe there is only one thing left… Pro Wrestling Revolution in Tijuana.” – Gabriel Ramirez

The entire camera crew team was great to work with, our driver Mark made the trip fun in so many ways, I am sure he will never forget as well. We want to thank the producers and directors for the opportunity to take part in such a special project, we can only hope we provided you with all you needed. All this was made special because of the help of a family friend both in and out if Lucha LIbre, Rey Misterio Sr, providing guidance, direction and TJ stars like Hijo de Rey Misterio, Tony Cassanova, Espectro and many more. This was a day that everybody at Pro Wrestling Revolution will, never, ever… forget.

New Champions crowned in Puerto Rico!

Pro Wrestling Revolution had two World Titles defended in Puerto Rico this past Sunday, April 21 for the debut show for the (WWL) World Wrestling League. The two champions defending their titles were Pro Wrestling Revolution Heavyweight Champion Oliver John – El Patron de La Migra, and Alissa Flash, who had just recently won the title in a match versus Dark Angel, as they faced off versus former Revolution Heavyweight Champion Blue Demon Jr, and Ivelisse Vélez, former WWE Tough Enough contestant and TNA Knockout.

Blue Demon Jr. came out victorious over Oliver John, but came out with a torn ligament in the end. The feud between these continues, 4 year later. Alissa Flash, put Ivelisse Vélez through a vicious beating from start to end, but the arrogance of not taking the winning pin, came back to haunt her and cost Alissa Flash her World Title. The rematch will take place May 10-11 for our double shot weekend.

This show was available for iPPV on www.highspots.com on Sunday and will be replayed for all to watch again or for the firs time this week. We are thankful to WWL for the opportunity to have our presence made in such a great event  and help promote our brand to the rest of the world!

¡Viva la Revolución!
